Multimedia University Melaka will once again, host one of the largest tournament in the region - the 3rd Malaysia Debate Open 2011. The organizing committee is looking forward to welcome institutions to this tournament again next year. We are in the final stage of confirming all the details (i.e, the schedules, adj core, adj subsidy policy, food selections, etc) but here are the ones that we would like to officially announce for now.

Date of the event : 4th to 8th March 2011
Debate Format : Asian Parliamentary Format
Tournament Cap : 100 teams

The tournament ended with UTMARA Teenage Moms (Rafiq & Shafiq) winning on the motion : THBT The 21st Century Calls for a Homosexual Disney Hero/Heroine.

Other teams in the finals were , UCTI Timon & Pumba (Timothy & JY), UTMARA Thoughtful Midgets (Sheila & Obama) and MOSAD- Monash University Malaysia (Hasif, Syamir).

Hasif also emerged as the Final's Best Speaker.

The 1st UCTI Open tournament was held at the weekend. The champions are Team BATIN consisting of Suthen "Tate" Thomas and Praba Ganesan. 1st runner ups are UT Mara 1 consisting of Mohd Shafiq Ahmed Bazari and Mohammad Syafiq B. Bahtiar "Stiffler". The finalists were team Matriachs (Ain Aissa Mohamad and Nur Atiqah Mohd Zaki) and UT Mara 3 (Nor Emellia Mohd Shariff and Mohamed Abdullahi).


Tate won the "Overall Best Speaker" and "Best Speaker For Finals" award.
The motions were:

2) Eligibility: All OIC Member Counties. Maximum three universities with one team each.

3) Country Registration Deadline: 1st September 2010.
