The ADK hosted the largest annual tournament with the national Czech and English debate tournament „Memorable Nymburk“ from the 22nd until the 24th of November. The tournament in Nymburk had 150 participants from high schools all across the Czech Republic with 37 teams participating.

The IDEA network has looked inward this year, rethinking and reshaping cooperation between IDEA and its members and between members. This was an opportunity given by the project idebateEU that aims to improve cooperation and sharing debate methodologies and organisational knowledge in the framework of common activities on European topics. IDEA and its members share a common enthusiasm for debating and its use as an educative tool in all sorts of settings.

Twenty-four teams competed in the second edition of the Middle Man tournament in Belgrade on October 26-27. The tournament focuses on students who have finished beginner workshops and debated in their faculty clubs for a while to give them specific feedback and motions for their level. The Estonian Debating Society (EDS) organised a wide variety of activities between September 15 and 22 surrounding Democracy Day (September 15). The Democracy Days activities took place in 76 different schools spread over 30 different locations in Estonia. A total of 5885 high school and university students participated in lectures given by well-known public figures such as politicians, actors and business leaders or members of the EDS presenting debates about democracy-related topics.

The Czech Debate Association ADK organised the Open Gate Open and Debate Training in Babice over the weekend of September 20 to 22. The debate training was open to high school students from all over the Czech Republic..A total of 46 students participated in the event in the Open Gate Open Boarding School. The participants took part in one of two tracks: one for more experienced debaters focused on the Karl Popper Debate format and one for beginners who combined training with trial debates.

The Utrecht Debating Society organised a public debate on the future of Europe on the 27th of May. About fifty people made their way to the Instituto Cervantes for the IDEA project Debate changing Europe event. They participated in a debate with Labour Party Euroskeptic René Cuperus and university teacher international and political history Mathieu Segers.
