On Wednesday the 10th of December the Leiden Debating Union organises a public debate about the question "Should the EU have acted more resolutely to counter the Crimean Crisis?", in cooperation with IDEA, Burger Europe and VDCH.
The Amsterdam student debating society Bonaparte hosted a public debate about the question: “Fortress Europe: is it time for a more liberal European asylum policy?” in cooperation with IDEA NL and Bürger Europas in the CREA student centre on November 20.
IDEA NL and three Dutch student debating societies are cooperating with Bürger Europas and IDEA member VDCH on a project called European Debates. The project consists of a series of public debates between politicians, experts and young Europeans about key issues of European politics. The debates are conducted as Oxford-style debates following a pro-contra approach.
The Erasmus Debating Society (EDS) of Rotterdam hosted a public debate on the question: “Should we always put ecology before economic growth?” on 14 May 2014, a week before the Netherlands goes to the voting booths for the European Parliament elections.
