First IDEA media camp in Central Asia

First IDEA media camp in Central Asia

Young Afghan debaters joined 40 others from Mongolia and Central Asia for an IDEA debate and media training camp at Lake Issyk-Kul in Kyrgyzstan.

The students worked with teachers and media experts for ten days – first learning and debating critical issues, and then producing media about them.

The camp was part of an ongoing series, ‘Youth in the 21st Century: Debating and Producing Media’, which brings together young people aged 18-25. Last year training camps were help in Moldova, Thailand, Nepal, Uganda and Latvia.

The next camp will be conducted in Russian and will take place at the Lake Issyk-kul resort from Aug 1st to 12th 2011.
