The First Day of the Youth Forum

Today made me realize how privileged I am. This is my 11th Youth Forum and I am lucky that I got to know the 'world' through exchanging stories with over 1000 debaters, coaches, trainers and wonderful colleagues throughout all these years. I am also privileged to have a passport from a country of the EU, which practically means unproblematic movement across borders and obtaining visas without having to document my intentions and answering too many questions. I am also fortunate to be involved in debate, because through this activity I learned to look at issues through the perspective of others. I feel priviledged and that is why 11 years ago I realized I need to be part of debate - and especially this event - to start giving back.
