We announce hereby a tender for the Future of Europe debates header. This tender will be financed through, and support the fulfilment of, the Operational Grant of Europe for Citizens.
The goal of the Future of Europe debates is to stimulate young people to participate fully as European citizens in discussions surrounding EU politics relevant to contemporary issues, including: the undermining of democracy and rule of law by disinformation and fake news; negotiations surrounding the 2021-2027 EU budget; and the prospective EU Green New Deal. The method utilised by prospective partners should be embedded within the pedagogy of debate education, as recognized by the International Debate Education Association.
We recognize three possible activity lines under this tender:
- A national Future of Europe debate activity (Act 1);
- An international Future of Europe debate activity (Act 2);
- A series of national debate activities in the Dutch-language environment for youth with fewer opportunities (Act 3).
Applications are welcome from the date of this publishment until the use of all funds or the latest December 1st, 2020. Only activities happening in 2020 are eligble.
