British Parliamentary Debate is coming to Hungary! 

The enthusiastic clubs of Central European University and Corvinus University Budapest decided to put Budapest on the map of international debate tournaments. We proudly present the first Budapest Open Debate Tournament.


*PRE-REGISTRATION lasts until 10 January 2012!!!! Full registration and the payment of registration fees will begin then and continue until 31 January 2012.*

Please be aware that in order to keep the tournament as diverse as possible, the limit is set at 2 TEAMS PER INSTITUTION,and N-1 RULE IS CANCELLED! We welcome judges to apply, but it is not compulsory for each institution to provide an adjudicator.
The team cap is set at 40 teams. In case any more teams wish to register for the tournament, we will put the third applying teams on a waiting-list, and they may be granted a place after the pre-registration period ends.
Registration fee is €50 per person.

Let us remind you that Budapest Open and Vienna IV 2012 are only a week apart! Why not make it a double date? The two cities are a mere 2 hours and €10 away from each other, we encourage you to book both and spend a glorious week of debating extravaganza.

Budapest Open will be adjudicated by the dream team in charge of adjudication of the European Universities Debating Championship 2012 in Belgrade! Chief Adjudicator Stephen Boyle will be assisted by Deputies Filip Muki Dobranic, Manos Moschopoulos, Tijana Mijalkovic and Yoni Cohen-Idov - and this provides all you EUDC-aspiring teams out there an excellent opportunity to improve your debating skills by getting feedback from some of the best adjudicators on the continent!

Accomodation is organised at the elegant three-star City Hotel Mátyás, for 3 nights, right between the two hosting universities (within walking distance!). Participants will also receive breakfast at the hotel restaurant, Mátyás Pince. Three-bed bedrooms are booked, please state on the application form if you have any roommate preferences.
