Graduates of Media Camp 2017 conducted iTalk on "Media and Ethics", trainings on civic journalism and debate technologies in Kyrgyzstan and Kazakhstan.
The graduates of Media Camp 2017 continue their active work not only publishing their materials in the media, but also conducting educational events. In Kazakhstan (Shymkent) and Kyrgyzstan (Osh and Karakol) was held iTalk (iTalk - a platform for public speaking) on the theme "Media and Ethics". Invited speakers shared their stories when they faced with violations of journalistic ethics, as well as what should be done in such situations; how to properly prepare stories; how to check the news; cyber psychology and self-realization of youth through work in NGOs.
Guest speakers in Karakol: Kairat Orozaliev - coordinator of the American Corner in Karakol and director of the radio "Wave of Issyk-Kul" - Lola Kulinova. In Osh: Aziza Murzashova, the editor-in-chief of Visitka Osh magazine, Dastan Үmytbai uulu, the assistant to the Youth of Osh project, Gulzat Gaziyeva, the media trainer of Yntymak Media and the chairman of the Board of the New Rhythm, the activist - Ainagul Amatbekova. In Shymkent guest speakers were: Nikolai Putilin - correspondent of Otyrar, journalist of the Emergency Call program and TV host; Saira Amantaeva is a correspondent, who publishes TVK channel editor and correspondent of MIA Kazinform; Askhat Shotaev - blogger; Danara Saranova is a young Kazakhstan's ambassador to the OSCE project (Switzerland), the mentor of the World Bank Project Coordination Agency in Kazakhstan and the president of the NGO "ASAA"; Arman Kushkimbayev - General Director and co-founder of the Salem Public Association, a partner of the International Charitable Organization Crossroads Foundation Ltd. Hong Kong.
Trainings in Kyrgyzstan were held: in Karakol from 16 to 19 November, in Osh from 23 to 26 November and in Kazakhstan from 24 to 28 November (in Shymkent participated young people from Shymkent, Taraz and Turkestan). Training was attended by pupils of 10-11 grades and students. Participants received training in journalistic ethics, storytelling, media literacy, documentary photography and video. As a result of trainings on civil journalism participants applied received knowledge in practice by preparing their materials on social topics. Trainers helped participants in writing and editing their materials.
In the second part of the training participants studied training on debatable technologies and played in the format tournament BPF (British Parliamentary Format).
