UT MARA Australs 2013 Postponement!

Greetings Australasian Debating Community, 

This message comes with much urgency as there is a slight issue with the dates that were initially allocated for this year’s Australs. Due to a major change in UT MARA's academic calendar, the earlier dates of 30th June to 8th July 2013 for Australs 2013 now clashes with UT MARA's examination period. We feel that this will interfere with the usage of university facilities, recruitment of runners and the fact that the organizing committee will also be sitting for their final examination. This was unforeseen initially when the bid was presented and now we have no choice but to reschedule Australs to a later date in order to give you a better and more efficient Australs. 

The new dates for UT MARA Australs 2013 is from the 14th July to 22nd of July 2013. However these dates coincide with the Islamic month of Ramadhan but seeing that we cannot push the event any further, it has been decided that Australs will happen during Ramadhan. 

From the organizing committee, we deeply regret this change and hope that it will not affect the participation of any institution. However, we are certain that the tournament will nevertheless be an event to remember. We hope all institution representatives will take note of this change and stay tuned for our soon to be released procedural time line and registration policy. Thank you!
