Registration open for International Worlds Schools Debate Tournament Ljutomer

National Slovenian debate organisation ZA IN PROTI, ZAVOD ZA KULTURO DIALOGA and GIMNAZIJA FRANCA MIKLOŠIČA LJUTOMER kindly invite you to traditional International Worlds Schools Debate Tournament Ljutomer, Slovenia, from 21st – 23rd March 2013.
TOURNAMENT 6 debate rounds, quarterfinals, semi-finals and finals.
Debates will be in English in Worlds Schools Debate Format. Team cap: 40 teams. In case there will be more teams registered as there are spots, we will limit the participation on the basis of the following criteria: regional diversity, support of national debate organisation, number of judges, time of registration.
Debaters should be accompanied by at least one adult who can also judge – 1 team/1 judge, 2 teams/1judge, 3 teams/2 judges. By team we mean 3 debaters – we will not accept teams with 4 or 5 debaters.
Tournament will be power paired, for the tabbulation we are using Rich Edwards computer programme.
REGISTRATION will open on January 15th and close on February 15th.
PREPARED MOTIONS
Bad democracy is the consequence of passive citizens.
Governments should put a limit on individual energy use.
We support a United States of Europe.
The capitalist system is incompatible with a just society
Egypt should follow a strict separation between religion and state.
ACCOMODATION There are two different options:
- home stays with Ljutomer students and teachers;
- Eko Hostel Križevci, www.eko-hostel.si/domov.html
PARTICIPATION FEE
Participation fee for those who would like to enjoy home stays with Ljutomer students:
60 EUR, it covers the food during the tournament and other tournament expenses. We do have 50 places for home stays and we will grant them on the first come first served bases.
Participation fee for the ones who would like to stay in Eko Hostel Križevci:
for 3 nights stay 120 EUR, it covers 3 nights/breakfast/lunch/dinner, tournament expenses and transport from Križevci to Ljutomer and back.
for 4 nights stay 140 EUR, it covers 4 nights/breakfast/lunch/dinner and tournament expenses and transport from Križevci to Ljutomer and back.
