NEAO 2012 is over
Submitted by Mite Kuzevski on 28 November 2012
NEAO 2012 at Kyung Hee University, organized by Kyunghee Debate Society (KDS), brought together more than 300 debaters and adjudicators to the Northeast Asian debate scene.
NEAO 2012 observed a number of developments in the debate scene. There has been much discussion in the Council regarding what NEAO should be as a tournament and its rules. NEAO 2012 fulfilled its role of bringing various national debating and judging styles into a regional place, where style, standard, and understanding of debate and adjudication were fused into one debate scene called Northeast Asia.
This tournament was a product of efforts by a number of individuals, Convener Doori Hong, Finance Director Won-il Jang the big guy, Deputy Chief Adjudicators Abel, Yuki, and Wendy, Tab Directors Logan and Mohan, Deputy Tab Choong Geun Lee, and the staff. We wish to recognize especially Tournament Director and Master of Ceremony Dave Il-Hwan Hwang, whose idea it was to invite GayaGeum Quartet to the Banquet.
NEAO next year is taking place in Korea.
Please find below the final results and motions. Attached is the full tab. The same can be found on KIDA's official Blog at http://kidatalks.blogspot.
