Published:25 May 2012 Duration: 58m:32s
IDEA, in association with OSF, is hosting the first event in a new program for university debaters from around the world. Debating Across Borders, runs from the third to the seventh of August. Eight speakers, from different universities and countries will be randomly placed into two teams. Their side in the debate will be determined by the toss of a coin. The motion will relate to the theme of civil liberties in the post 9/11 world.
The project is designed to give young people a platform, encouraging them to voice their opinions through the power of reasoned argument.
