The International Debate Camp is an annual Debate Camp and Debate Open, both taking place in Porto (Portugal).

The IDC ’12 will be held from the 22nd to the 29th of July, both in the city of Porto, avibrant and fascinating city, and in the beautiful “Parque do Rio Inn” (Ofir), a wonderful resort between in a natural reserve forest between sea and river shore. The academic part of the event will be held at the Inn, while the Debate Open will take place in the city (27th to 29th July). If you want to, you can register only for Porto Open.

The University of Porto Debating Society invites you to take part in a new experience that provides solid training for debaters through a world class debating faculty, lectures and meetings with local academia, decision makers and policy expert; but we aim to go much beyond debating. We host a unique event where we gather participants from different countries in sub-camps, allowing debaters to really know each other and letting them compete not only in debates but also in fun-oriented outdoor activities. We have a strong and diverse social programme that includes cheap drinks, good music [except on the karaoke night], and an entire day dedicated to discover Porto through sightseeing, boat trips and wine tastings.

Whether giving your first steps in debating, or preparing for Belgrade Euros 2012, the International Debate Camp and the IDC – Porto Open offer the perfect opportunity to spend a few days among new and old friends “learning, sharing and competing”.

You can register for the Debate Camp here or just for the Debate Open here.
