A lot of the comparisons that I make between debating in Europe and debating in the developing democracies of Central Asia mention the IoNA debate circuit. Short for Islands of the North Atlantic (England, Ireland, Scotland and Wales), the IoNA circuit is where I learned- slowly and painfully- to debate.

Prepared for everything

I was prepared for everything but the cameras.

Three months ago I was given the opportunity to travel to Bishkek, the capital of the Kyrgyz Republic, to run a series of workshops on British Parliamentary style debating for representatives of Central Asian debate societies.
